I miss outside too. I miss my car! I even miss the office and going to the supermarket. We will get back there soon though. Hang in there
It wont be long b4 we will miss these quiet times CD
I've been taking my car for a drive once a fortnight, just to keep it ticking over.
Oh I don't know. Would I have to change out of my jim-jams, have a shave or even a shower?
Don x
I fear " outside" has been flirting with others don, should I be worried ? 😆
My experience with flirting tells me that no good will ever become of it. 🙄
Ain't that the truth
Don, as long as you keep posting on here, you can wear an Hawaiian skirt with pompom slippers.
Posting on here is my main therapy. I think I'm hanging on to my sanity by the tips of my arthritic fingers!
and you are helping others do the same Don.
Oh I like that ! It says so much as to how many of us feel at the moment. At least it made me smile knowing at least one person understands.
☺
I’m starting to miss the shops and general life with family. I must admit though it is really quiet and peaceful which is nice.
Things will change eventually Dave. Hang on in there. Xxx👍😘
This Morning, I Watched Hubby get in the car with Envy, to Drive to the Next Little Town for the first time in 3 months where there is a "Wilko" Plus other Desired outlets. What a wonderful husband you have Carolina, as do I of course but Pete would be hopeless in choosing cards etc. I’d send our daughter out instead. Lol.

Dave - I hear many are out there who are vulnerable and supposed to be isolating. I did wonder if I could go out for a walk - I fear if I go out I may meet someone and get the virus so I don’t go out! It’s just me and the garden? So how come others are braving going out? People over 80 going out everywhere ? That’s weird? Going to the coast staying in their holiday home? Yes over 80? Surely they are also vulnerable as stats show that age range can die if they get it?
I don’t know?? I’m thinking mind my own concentrate on me - maybe I’m resentful they go out and I don’t?
Everyone seems to be more relaxed about it all.
Oh well - I’m making the most of this time because I may never have this again.
Hi kate, glad your staying safe ( even though there is a temptation to venture out). I'm going nowhere until the infection rates fall, knowing my luck I'll go out and run into someone sneezing , luckily our gardens are safe spaces and my neighbour will continue to not use his barbecue, hope the cats are keeping you busy and entertained, I must admit to being a little jealous seeing the beaches and country walks people are going on but I'll be patient ( good things come to those who wait they say ) and stay safe ,
Hope you are well and weathering this unusual situation
Take care
Dave 😊
Knowing my luck too. I’m not anxious about going out - I’m being precautionary around the whole thing. Funny I was invited to do a new copd trial today in August and they explained the precautions they will take. I just said o would if it’s safe.
Yes my furry babies are all great and mollie is shading herself as her fur is way too thick,
My neighbours have bbqs and invite the kids next door to play in their garden and they are so loud too - if I complain they’re reply is generally a non empathic one of “ they are kids having fun”? Hmm at my inconvenience I think!!! Beggars belief!!!
I’m grateful I’m seeing clients later (over video) so that will keep me grounded.
Take care x
I miss it too especially with all this lovely weather. Have a great day and take care 😊 Bernadette xx xx 🌈
In some ways I'm fortunate that I'm not considered medically 'vulnerable', despite all my problems, so I can go out? But for someone who thought nothing of going for a 100+ mile 'ride in the car', with maybe a stop or two along the way for ice-cream, a trip around previously unexplored shops, admiring the view,.... it's a far cry from freedom! It's sad that 'doing the shopping' has become the highlight of the week? 🙄
But I received this poem from my sister in Canada today, written by a friend of hers, which sums it all up?:
Following All the Rules.
The World has caught a virus,
Though it's nothing you can see,
So here am I, on house arrest,
In case it's after me!
It seems I'm very vulnerable,
Cos my youth is in the past,
Age is the only thing
That suddenly works fast!
They've banned nice, friendly chats,
To anyone who's near,
But if I follow all the rules,
I might be here next year?
That’s lovely
🙂 x
I miss outside too. I miss everything.
I miss a guy called Dave too actually more than one Dave.
I also miss going to garden centres and lunch out whilst enjoying a bevvy or coffee with friends.
I have a garden so I am enjoying outside and the increased population of birds visiting the garden.
There is something afoot with the birds though, I was watching and listening to the crows and jackdaws which seemed to have summat to say about summat
Strange things happen in lockdown
PS I might be missing the hairdresser before much longer too.
PPS - Council have cut the grass 1st time since lock down so that is a step in the right direction.
I've noticed the birds being more active and acting more aggressively with each other
oh dear, I've not witnessed any aggressiveness in the bird communities, I must have well behaved, happy friendly birds
The crows and magpies are getting ruthless, very brutal Bkin
Well, I gave in to temptation today and walked to local shop, well more hobble to shop. My son does it in five minutes took me half an hour, and horror of horror had to go in my slippers as couldn’t get shoes on!
Mentally I feel so much better, when I got home I did sanitise everything. Was it worth it? Yes oh yes
J
Hi Dave, 🌻
I know what you mean. It is very hard. We don't have the extreme lock down like you, so I can go where I want but I don't. And by and large Japanese have adhering to the advice. So our cases have dropped. Some areas of Japan are slowly reopening this week, but not Tokyo yet. However, we will all get through this 😄. I do walk every day, I just make sure I go out when it's quiet and I avoid contact with people. I'd go mad if I couldn't exercise. Hang in there. Better days are coming. xx 👋
Hi cas ,
I'm hanging on in there as they say , I must admit my life hasn't changed much during this lockdown apart from the obvious freedoms this has curtailed , abiding by the rules for some I can understand as being more difficult and I suppose the more fit and healthier you are the less danger or threat you see in cv19.Im not justifying their actions you understand but I suppose it's difficult living in any big city ( tokyo) ,
I'm glad your getting out most days and you ( if you dont mind me saying) seem to be perfectly psychologically suited to your new lung ,I wish you nothing but the best in every aspect of your life that I'm sure will be fulfilling,
Stay safe and well
Dave x
