I‘ve had pleurisy for 12 days, less painful now than a week ago but still lingering! How likely is this to have been caused by COVID-19?

I’ve no idea Jellybean but I must admit there have been quite a few people on here lately mentioning pleurisy. Without testing though, how will we know?

Wishing you well. Xxx 😘

i don't know but had pleural effusion- water on lung- which is less serious than pleurisy, and that was a month ago at least. I still get exhausted climbing a staircase and for most of my life, I'm 55, I used to go back packing on the moors carrying 25kg of sand for 2 hours. I'm sure pleurisy will have at least thew same,if not greater, effect. Mine wasn't from covid-19 so you might just need time to get your health back again. Gentle exercise each day, don't make yourself breathless. Take care and phone your GP or NHS if you're worried.

best wishes for you to recover, mike x

I have had pleurisy on a number of occasions and it can last for weeks. I think 6 weeks was my longest episode. Without the antibody test there are a lot of people wondering if they have actually caught the virus.
