Can anyone help . I have c.o.p.d with all the usual problems ,however i am having a sleep problem .When i start to nod off i suddenly reawake which wont go away and is most unpleasent. I have been tested for sleep apnoea and i do not suffer with it. Sometimes i just nod off and other times although i am exhausted i can't. I would appreciate any advice or perhaps advise why this is happening.

You must be really overtired by now, robotman. I have problems sleeping, and I found it helps to have a night time routine of winding down before bed, and listening to gentle audio books to stop my mind winding me up when it's time to sleep. When I'm having real difficulties, I take melatonin. I've found it's important to try to go to sleep at the same time each night, early enough that I can have 6 hours' sleep before daylight.

Hope these tips help. All the best.
