Has been calm and sunny but cold . I'm sorry your having such horrendous weather that would drive me mad now having to feel it and see it all the time ..I get very down when it rains though I still get out it's the worst weather for me 💞💞💞

I’m not enjoying the weather at all, and we’re quite cut off , there have been no deliveries to the shop since before the new year and next week looks even worse weather wise. It’s the wind that scares me the most as it can do so much damage.

Happy New Year Blackbird6. Thank you for such a peaceful photo and wonderful to see the sky! We have had smoke for weeks now with all these catastrophic fires in Oz. Long to see blue sky and have some fresh air! So sad for all those in the path of the fires.

My thoughts are with you illawara and those that are around those fires ...wildlife included ..they should have done controlled burning when necessary to stop these happening that's what they do here to get rid of undergrowth...fires have been raging out there for such a long time stay safe and sound 💞💞💞💞

Hi Izb1 I just replied and somehow I lost it! Thanks so much for your kind thoughts. What is happening here is horrendous! They are saying that only nature will put out these fires so all they can do is try and save life and homes.

We are praying for rain and for all those who are suffering from the fires. So sad too all the loss of wildlife. We have smoke but we do not have fire in our area. However we have a huge escarpment and we are praying that it does not get on fire. It is very close to the city. I was encouraged when I heard a weather man say on Friday that a small cyclone is forming up north they will know more late next week. If it comes it will bring much needed relief. xx

Yes , my heart dropped this morning when I heard that Kangeroo Island in Adeliade was on fire, my nieces live in Adelaide so it is more of a worry. I just hope and pray for rain soon, the loss of wildlife has been devastating, it will take a long time for Austalia to get over this catastrophe x

Lovely new year with our daughter. She announced to us that she may have the chance to go and teach in Shanghai from this summer for 2 years. Will be very well paid and they pay flights back etc. I put on a brave face saying what a great chance.and the children will have a fantastic teacher. Had a few tears when she went home.

I know wish I had the opportunities when I was younger. Can understand why shes doing it. she loves her work with children. And as she said when the contract ends she will be able to come home and buy a new car and a big deposit on her house which she couldnt do working as a teacher here. And gets to see places shes hoping to visit places like Japan. So I can't blame her.

I am absolutely petrified of heights and flying. And with panic attacks I wouldn't be able to cope. Which is a shame I would be there like a shot

Aaaw what a shame, I know its difficult as i suffer from claustrophobia but my daughter lived in Cyprus , Spain, Tenerife and I had to overcome these fears otherwise I wouldnt have seen them. At least she will be over on a regular basis and you will get to see her x
