Water logged in the forest
Hello Blackbird6 ,
Forgive my ignorance, is that a cow? A calf maybe? Your photos are very beautiful. I know many of us enjoy seeing them. xx ππ
Morning Cas
It's a young calf plenty of them out and about at this time of year .
If you google new forest Hampshire UK it will give you plenty of insight in to how and where the livestock came to be on the forest . If you like to research that is I hope your feeling better and your recovery is going according to plan ππππ
The cows here all go indoors at this time of year π‘ The weather is just too bad for them. So we won't see cows for several months now. I'm fortunate to be able to buy silage from the farm next door and each morning when I pass the barn with cows in I say hello to them. π
A lot down here get herded off the forest also including the other livestock for homestead feeding as winter approaches ..skies are still blue and clear though when we get rain the drainage is terrible here so looks worse than it is sometimes the dogs love it though π₯°ππ
In Scandinavia it's the sheep that go in for the winter, otherwise they'd be below the depth of the snow!
Awe poor baby I love your photos they really brighten up my day. Have a good day and take care of yourself π Bernadette xx
Another great photo capturing the calf and all that water beautifully. Thank you. Xxx ππ
Wow Blackbird this is so clear and such a stunning photo, thank you so much for sharing, i love your photos x
I love your photos too ....so beautiful.... you have a real talent πx
Gosh, I find myself looking forward to your posts with photos. They are always so special. and give me much pleasure. This one with the darkness of the cow against the light in the distance is quite beautiful. The reflection just adds to the beauty. Thank you.
I'm very happy you like them and enjoy seeing them RR.
I like reflections in the water and blue skies when we have them are just a joy even though it's cold.
I'm wishing spring to come and feel the warmer days again I'm getting fed up of going out wearing fur lined trousers and jackets to keep the heat in I look like the Michellen man all trussed up like a sunday roast.
Enjoy the rest of your sunday ππ
Dear Blackbird6,
Yes a lovely Picture...both Funny and Sad, at the same time.

Dear Blackbird6,
Allow me to explain my, perhaps apparently random, comment....This is 'SAD' because the Poor Animal is 'Alone' and surrounded by water, in other words 'Marooned'. It is 'FUNNY' for similar reasons...β¦.IF you SEE 'things' as I do, that is. (Just ONE animal in a 'Flooded' area.) OK so I'm being Weirdβ¦...π½
Merry Christmas, despite this

Not at all .. and not alone only in the picture.
The calf was surrounded by at least 40 ish other cattle including the mother as they never wander far .
It was just me zooming my lense in to take what I wanted for a picture.
Certainly not marooned in a large puddle and had it been unsafe for it to be there I would have herded them on but its absolutely fine βΊοΈβΊοΈβΊοΈπππ
