Esoteric research?

Hi. After watching Jim Al-Kahlili's programme on quantum biology last night I'm wondering if there is any like research going on into COPD?

Missed that programme but found the Wikipedia entry about quantum mechanics in biology very interesting- a new way of looking at well-understood mechanisms of transforming energy in living organisms. I suspect such research in organisms as large as humans may be a long way off, but the different perspective could well open up new avenues of research.

Good stuff Ergendl. Surely esoteric in the challenging sense of intellect. The notion of entanglement in DNA got me thinking that there should be a molecular way to account for the lung problem and its functioning within the conversion, of energy but that is as far as I can go. I gave up on string theory years ago, not being a physicist. As you hint in your reply to micox, there ought to be a future in this weird research. All power to Leiper and Coin MIT.

Thanks both. Research has started in humans and with COPD I was thinking about the O2- CO2 cycle.
