Anyone any idea of any risks or precautions or limitations for someone with alpha one, mild bronchiectasis having a GA?

I would be surprised if they gave you a GA at all. Unless its a near life or death requirement they just dont do it. I had to have a colonoscopy with them not even using the strong sedative they use as although your out to it so to speak its not actually a GA. I know of others with lung problems who have had an epidural for an operation but thats only if its suitable for the type of operation. Speak to your Dr about it. They told be when they thought I may have bowel cancers that if I had to have surgery they would have to send me to a main teaching hospital and I would have to be kept in ICU afterwards. Thats only if they decided the risk was worth it. It turned out to be polyps and I had to have them removed with no GA ouch ouch ouch mega times over is all i can say it was like.
But then I am a sook when it comes to pain.
That all sounds pretty painful. Also similar to the conversation had, no private hospital only teaching hospital with icu which for some reason came as quite a surprise to me!! 🤣 Glad it was nothing nasty and you got over the pain, have had a scope the other end with just sedation and eventually they had to pin me down!!!
Hi. I have Alpha ms and never had an issue. Discuss with the anaesthetist before they start. Good luck.
