copd
Hi you can claim anything you like but whether you would get them is a different issue. Why not ring the nurse on the BLF number? They work office hours. x
copd doesn't automatically qualify as a disability very much variable as to how bad and how it affects an individual. And of course what if any other financial help one gets at any given age. Maybe citizens advice or similar could advise you or as hypercat suggests call BLF.
Benefits are not about what illness you have but how it effects your daily living . i.e dressing, walking, breathing, bathing ect.
If you drive apply to your local council for a blue badge helps with parking other benefits like pip check on line some of the benefits so to be age related. Or ring age concern they should be able to advise you or admin office on blf British lung foundation
You may qualify for Attendance Allowance depending on the severity of your condition.
Too old to apply for PIP as it is a working age benefit.
I use a wheelchair so when out find it difficult t use the outside toilets because they often have steps someone suggested I buy a key for disability toilets can be used all round the country. Most of them are clean and tidy no steps wheel yourself in and lock yourself in. Big chunky key can get them on Amazon for a few pounds times.came in handy when its busy time on the sea front. Hubby even printed off a little map so I was able to get to one when needed.
The blue badge I think if you have a carer can apply for blue badge especially if you have problems driving but check with the council. Just be careful in supermarket car park still have to put badge up and get a ticket you may need to put car registration details on it otherwise they may fine you.pay at machine and get money back when shopped keep tickets and receipt to be n safe side. So yes you can park in disabled bay just check rules. Free after 6pm as far as I know.
That is not correct. Citizens Advice formerly known as Citizens Advice Bureau is made up of 316 charitable organisations. Although it receives some, not all, funding from Government, it is totally independent and the staff do offer good unbiased advice.
Rules and regulations are complex and Citizens Advice will help people through this to achieve the best outcome for them. Remember the Government also has to conform to their own regulations. It is grossly unfair to suggest CA are there to support Government and not help individuals. They provide a fantastic service and your blinkered unfounded bias helps no one. Please do not deter people from seeking advice based on a non factual opinion.
CA are independent charities. Please check your facts. The appeals process for benefits is funded by the Government but many people win their appeals. At appeals all facts are looked it in accordance with legislation. I worked within the system so speak with many years experience not a personal experience. Often people may feel a particular outcome is wrong or unfair but everyone has to abide by regulations, the law.
