I quit Spriva because it made my mouth sore - my Dr then prescribed the Incruse.

It seems these once a day inhalers are becoming more popular with doctors , but they are not suitable for everyone and like most pills have some side effects. Good luck with it.

I cant take Spiriva as it stops me from weeing it also gives me little stars that flash and dart before my eyes. Not good at all but I found out after I finally told my specialist that these are quite common with Spiriva so now I am back on Atrovent which gives me a similar thing with the eyes but only if I take 2 puffs close together which is what i was prescribed so now its 1 puff 4 times a day. I agree with Katieoxo60 Once a day puffers dont suit everyone. I was changed to a couple of different ones over the years and both after a few weeks made me breathless? Again when i mentioned this to my Speciaist he said yes we are finding that happens a fair bit with that one. Another one he tried me on as a once a day one was Bretaris Genuair but I felt spaced out on that also that it didnt last the 24 hours so maybe i was panicking a bit knowing I had no puffer to take. Now I take Symbicort 400 mg twice a day and Atrovent 3 times a day even though I can go up to 4 if I need it. I was also on Qvar once a day years ago but a new specialist said its the same as Symbicort so there was no need to be taking it. Sometimes I wonder if they really know what they are doing.

Your reaction to Spriva was really amazing - it made my mouth sore was the reason I stopped taking it. wonder if they really check/test these things before they release them to the public?

I've been on Spiriva for quit awhile now. You have to gargle and spit everytime you inhale it. I'm ok except I'm a bit deus mouth from it but I use cough drops after and the dry mouth goes away.
