Hi everyone I’ve just received my monthly wage slip I’ve had a sick line in for the month and they have halfed my wages on top of this they said they over paid me 320 last month there mistake yet took the full amount I’m now after paying my rent and council tax I’m skint feel helpless as I had the sick line in to cover me been off I have had bad Athsma and bronchiectasis they have no helped me at all I’ve got my lawyer involved just skint now seems unfair x

Hi not good. I don't know what country you are in as I am in the UK. Here it depends on what your work contract says. Some employers give you full pay when you are off sick, some half, and many nothing. You can claim Statutory Sick Pay when off for more than a certain amount of time which comes from the govt. but it is only around £75 a week. x

A good employer would have paid the full sickness benefot for the period stated in your contract after that they are obliged only to pay you the state sickness benefit

In your case a bit of consideration regarding the overpayment should have happened

Hi peter yeah there no happy that I’m taking them to court was working for 12 years with a hazardous substance and my work never gave me any ppe my lawyer has been in touch I’ve to note any money I’ve missed and he will get it back good thing is now they health and safety went in and warned them had two weeks to sort the ppe out or shut down

If you have been working without any protection and suffer health problems then you should be able to claim compensation.

If Health and Safety are involved they could be in serious trouble with large fines, what was the substance?

Sorry for delay peter it was mek and never wore a mask for the 13 years I’ve worked there went to meting with them yesterday was told bronchiectasis does not qualify as a disability I have Athsma too and have just been diagnosed bronchiectasis I know it is a disability just cause Ive got my lawyer on to them think they wanted me to crack but held it together just lol
