It usually says on my appointment form that if one is experiencing cold, flu or chest infection symptoms, not to attend. Can you judge for yourself if your ‘puffing power’ is not up o your usual standard? If it was mr I would not go but I would let them know.
Hi Ticks I would be inclined to get another appointment as if you are under the weather the actual force they make you blow will certainly not do you any good and the results will show a worse reading. I normally rebook when I am ill. If you was just going to find out results all well and good but not a test. Xx 😊
Very true Whitechinchilla the one I had middle of last year I was having a
Exercberation not infection-but the lung team nurse had come out and said after sounding my chest to take 35mgs of prednisone to control and help breathing difficulties. So I still had test done ✅ however when I went to see my consultant he told me that if you were on antibiotics or steroids you could get a incorrect result so YES ring them up good luck 🤞🤞🤞
Yes, it will skew your results so rebook. I was told this recently by the Royal Brompton before my first appointment - it was disappointing. But they said I needed to have a test reflecting the best I could be.
Thanks everyone. I am worse today with blocked nose and headache so I’m going to take all of your advice and ring them as soon as they are open. I hope I don’t have to wait a long time for a new appointment 😫
Thanks so much, still sick here, was totally man down today! I’ve been able to rebook for a fortnight’s time, so not too bad in the end. If I had gone today there’s no way the results could be right as I’m pretty sure I’ve got flu... xx
Is there a number you can call on the appointment letter? Maybe give them a phone have a chat .. if your not feeling yourself then I wouldn’t be going anywhere .. x
