A good 3 weeks of antibiotics, keeping warm having a large amount of fluids and lots of rest. It takes a long time to recover from so the child should stay in for a good 4 weeks and then take it easy. Any coughing should be investigated by a doctor. It's a nasty illness and knocks it out of you. Rest is the best cure, but also lots of fluids. And a follow up chest X-ray in 4-6 weeks to check on progress.
