Singing something simple,

Turn the volume loud.

I find it so relaxing

And just want to hear more.

But if my kids in the back don't shush

Do you remember an early soap called ‘The Rowan Tree’? That was one of Margaret’s favourites and we planted one at the front of the house. It has become big now and the birds really appreciate it for the mass of berries each year.

Nothing to do with radio, but I stumbled upon an old English comedy, Are you being served? I remember my mum mentioning it when I was a child. It is so different from comedy in this day and age. xx 😂

That was a TV comedy series, very popular but a bit too silly for my taste. I like my humour to have a bit of sharp wit about it and ‘Are you being served’ was a bit short in that department.. 😉xx

It’s hard to imagine now but in the early days of motoring cars didn’t have radios or heaters fitted. In winter you needed heavy coats mufflers gloves and a woolly hats. What must it have been like having what we now call COPD in those days? I suppose most of us would be dead, so be grateful. ❄️☃️😀

We still 'enjoy' motoring like that, Don. My husband has a 1932 Austin 7 and a 1954 A30 so we have a few cold outings! We used to have an open topped Austin Chummy and I had to wear lots of extra clothes in that one! It was lovely in the summer but not so great in winter. I find the cars a bit 'fumy' if you know what I mean. I'm sure the fumes can't be good for my chest, but I put up with it for the sake of marital harmony. Haha!

Aren’t you lucky having a husband with taste. 😉 My very first car was a 1929 Austin Chummy, minus a hood. I frighten my mate once by overfilling the petrol tank which splashed petrol onto the hot engine resulting in clouds of steam around me with my pipe in my mouth. 🥺 My first posh car was a 1936 Rover 14hp with a free wheel gearbox which I loved driving in mountainous country. 😀

Brilliant .. my Da would turn the tv off some nights and listen to the radio .. he’d have a few whiskys then start doing his ballroom dancing with me standing on his feet .. those were the days xx huge hugs xx
