It was my Promotion course in 1979 ( nearly put 1779 ops). Joined at 16 in 1975. Basically they spent six weeks shouting at us running us into the ground in order to ensure we met the standards to gain the rank of full corporal. I at the time was already a full corporal. The Army works in strange ways. I now run a reunion group for the men that I served with between 1980-1985. We meet at Lichfield once a year. I have found about 60% of them and I am still searching.

Which handsome Tommy are you BB? Quite an achievement to find 60%.

🙏😢I come from an Army family throughout the generations and feel very sad on this day each year.

Same here, my grandfather, great uncles, father, uncle, myself and not forgetting my brother and nephew.

Whilst I understand you may have reason to feel sad on such a momentous day you and badbessie should also feel proud, very very proud of every member both current and former of the armed forces,I know I do!!

Yes also proud. We’ve lost family both here and in Germany in the armed forces.

Hi! It was an extra special experience this year Bb including the Sat evening at the VSC (Victory Services Club). A shame your wobble interferes, though the group l was in all had a wobble at some point with the uneven road surface.
