Oxygen useage

Hello,

My wife has pig and is on oxygen flow 6 when moving, also uses a converter flow 1 for 15 hours when resting. But when resting without using oxygen her oxygen level drops to around 84. My question is can she use the converter on flow 1 or lower to top up so using the converter for more then 15 hours.

Hi

I would ring your respitory nurse first, before altering the oxygen dosage.

In the mean time ask you wife to do several minutes of pursed lip breathing. Deep inhale, hold for two seconds and a long exhale through pursed lips, like whistling.

You need to ask a doctor obviously but i am on oxygen 24hrs for just that reason.i have two concentrators, big lump of a thing downstairs and a smaller one upstairs. Plus bottles for going out. My bottle oxygen is on 3 or 4 and the concentrators on 1
