Hi there, I am in NW England, aged 66 and had Bronchiectasis since I was 11 and asthma for the last 30 years but it is only mild asthma. Hoping to learn from others and hopefully help others too.

Welcome OAP27. This is a great place for help and advice, and just to have a chat. I have bronchiecstasis, probably since I was a child but only diagnosed in 2012, when I went to my gp with a cough that had been there for a few months. Also got a ‘difficult’ asthma diagnosis at the same time! My lung consultant, a lovely, caring man, calls me his tricky patient!
Welcome x
Welcome to the site. Lots of nice people here willing to share problems and a great site for information especially for you situation. Get the GP to get you in touch with your local RESP team. Good luck.

Thanks, does RESP stand for something? I guess respiratory? They have asthma clinics at the GP's but to be honest the doctors themselves don't really deal with bronch they prefer to refer me to the specialist. I see him once a year for check ups. Not needed it more often than that for a while now and hopefully won't do. If there was a local team I could go to for advice I would do though.
You are quite right. The team are specialist nurses full of up to date tips and info. and can put you in touch with gentle exercise classes just for people like you. Go for it! See your GP soon as you can and he will put you in touch with them.
