I was looking up the doses for cancer and found the doses for rheumatoid arthritis and inflammation in general in a comment to a nutritionfactsorg video

nutritionfacts.org/video/tu...

the comment, by a doctor, said

"Here is a journal reference regarding amount of turmeric for joint inflammation. It recommends about 2 grams which is just under 1/2 of a teaspoon. For increased absorption it should be taken with black pepper otherwise all the inflammatory capability will remain in the gut. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/196...

Notice the addition of pepper to enhance the effect.

I suffer from lots of ailments and use curcuma with powered ginger, half a teaspoon each.

Somewhere in the video or in the comments its says that curcuma is much more powerful when heated, i.e., cooked.

Hope this helps though it is not an exact match to your question

I have been told that turmeric

interacts with certain medicines?

I DIDN'T KNOW about possible interactions, now I've googled it and you are right. Here's a list of the medications that may interacts, from webmd.com/vitamins-suppleme...

Medications that slow blood clotting (Anticoagulant / Antiplatelet drugs) interacts with TURMERIC

Turmeric might slow blood clotting. Taking turmeric along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding.

Some medications that slow blood clotting include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Hope you're not taking any of these meds!

no, but I did ask about taking it from someone who sells it and with the other drugs I'm on he says no. I have been juicing with it for some time so stopped now with no adverse effects.

Not what you're looking for?
