I love the photos of the journey. Almost as good as one of Michael Portillo's European train journeys, which is one of my favourite programmes.
I like trains too..Michael Palin’s journeys..🤗
i like both of those programmes very much only i reckon BJ likes the suave and charming Michael Portillo with his colourful attire and benign manner lol x
Haha..I suppose I still see Palin in his life of Brian’s outfit.. montypython.net/scripts/bri...
Palin's series were great and i remember eagerly awaiting each episode in days when we didn't have vcr's and recorded tv and instant gratification xx
🐰🐹🐭🐱🐱🐶 xx
I take them out of the library from time to time and watch them back to back.
Good idea!!!
Hi ski's and your beautiful but perhaps lazy feline friend ... how are you today sir ? Hope your staying out of trouble although I fear your reply may tell me differently ...lol xx mel and still fattish black cat shadow x
Hi Mel.thanks for thinking of us,we are fine though baby smart car battery is flat so going nowhere soon.hope you are well and wrapped up warm and shadow is not too demanding, though like scruffy they require almost limitless fuss and attention, take care my love,xx
Oh dear no car can be a pain ! Do u get out much as I don't nowadays but I can wish and pray I suppose ! Big hi to scruffy from her feline friend shadow xxx😻😻
Actually, he's a bit too smarmy for me and the pink blazer should be banned, but otherwise I do like his trips. Michael Palin is an old charmer too but It seems to come naturally to him. Travelling round the world on train journeys isn't a bad way to make a living.
Crossing borders on trains is especially thrilling. I was thrilled silly to cross the border from England to Scotland on the train recently.
i once went to get a train from Santa Cruz in Bolivia to La Paz in the north,in broken Spanish i managed to enquire what time the next train was and they politely advised it was 3 years ago as they had stopped bothering to run them lol i am thinking to get the train from Peru to La Paz as it crosses the Andes but i think the lack of O2 is going to make it rather a perilous journey x
Oh you crack me up so so witty !!!
Lovely atmospheric photo Fran. Xxx
Thanks Carole!! I am having fun listening to my playlist on youtube and taking pictures..Time will fly🐞
Fran, very romantic.
I had a French friend and I played her this

She thought it was all "guimauve" (marshmallow" ) Ah well, some people don't like those sweet ditties. I do I'm afraid,
Mic
Very romantic!! 😊
You have some beautiful scenery.
Yep thanks..usually tgvs are like motorways..monotonous..but this is an enjoyable train ride 😊
Looks beautiful. I love long train journeys. One of my favouritesis Geneva to Grindelwald.... I never tire of it. Have a wonderful time. XXX
I have to try that one!! Thank you Pam xx

You got it right really..xx
Mel, I couldn't agree more. Trains open the imagination into dreamland. I hope you get over this chest infection. You might watch YouTube, they too have amazing things there. Get better, Mic
Thanks Mic... nice to meet u ... the only train journey I will be taking is in the new year to see one of the professors who deal with my lung condition at Nottingham which is 3 hours away so not quite as scenic as frans journey but still it gets me out for the day with my family ...melx
Pam, Don't forget to ask your prof for pulmonary rehabilitation nurse to take over when he's finished his \ph\d over you! The pulmonary nurse is down to earth and also follows you up; she can explain lots of things about lung problems, give ideas about exercises and drug management, She can even suggest a rescue pack of medicine and you ask your GP to have some rescue antibiotics for when you hav e an exacerbation,
I hope you get a pulmonary nurse. I had one, but she told me she had to discharge patients, and she thought I was too well to keep on her books, so she discharged me. Fortunately, the ashtma (sorry that's my jewish spelling again!!! ) nurse has taken over at the medical centre and told dme I could always call on her.
Hope you get holp with prof and nurses. Mic
Sorry mic that reply came to me (mel) but u had wrote the name Pam so was it for me or ??
Sorry, got confused. It's to you Mel (no one else Mic
Hi yes the lung condition I have is called lam (the real name is far too long) and there is only 162 people all women who have it in England so I go to the prof as he runs the lam clinic but it's in Nottingham which is 3 hours away . I also have my local respiratory team and oxygen nurses but not been too well at all since last year more so ..I'm doing pulmonary rehab but missed so many due to my chest infection so they suggested I get myself bit better and start it in January.. I have emergency packs of anti biotics and my local chemist are really nice and deliver it all so I'm lucky but things were so bad in Feb as was in hospital for 3 weeks with type 'll respiratory failure and given 2 hours to live on 3 occasions and I'm only 43 (42) at the time but here I am still plodding on .. I shudder to think if they had turned that ventilator off I would not be here now...Wow quite a head Shock let me tell you .. anyway sorry to sound so doom and gloomy but things are not too bad for me and at least I still get to see everyone I cherish and love 😊💞x take care mel
kemety. That's reassuring. Carry on with what you know is best. Mic
Im glad you attend Nottingham!! Top in the country for LAM!! Hope you get first class treatment 🌹
Oh he is lovely prof and the lam nurse ..they have been so kind and understanding although I only go twice a year roughly and I just have a chat and he takes notes and sometimes I have a lung function too xxx
[Edited to remove names of medics]
Good!! I am glad you have a good team.
I go twice a year to the local pulmonologist for functions and once a year to the Swiss respiratory clinic at the Chuv hospital in Lausanne, poor service as they only have 20 cases in the country, they don’t seem to care..I had a full blood test there, they got the vegf_d wrong now I have to wait 6 to 8 months.
I went last December and we never got a report, which is why I decided to go to Lyons in France. My professor is excellent, told me to come in 2 years or before if things change if not I am stable now.
Anyway Good Night Mel xx
Fran

Pam,
I went to Italy once. When I had to get the express train back at Genoa, it was two hours late from Rome. I was advised to go to the next stop with this, then to catch the other train for Brussels in Switzerland. I had a lovely little express yellow train in Switzerland to catch the grand express train back to Brussels. Oh lovely! Mic
I’ll check the video when I have my earphones..^^
Loved being on the journey with you Fran. Considerably cheered up my day.
You are kind. Nice to share it xx
