Fostair

I have been taking this since August!

I notice that I’m often feeling a bit wired and edgy after taking it.

I tried reducing it but had a couple of attacks so am taking the full dose again. It has got me breathing normally again but I’m not feeling quite myself mood wise. Has anyone else noticed this as a side effect

I use the lower does Forstair, I was diagnosed with late onset Asthma after many months and numerous different inhalers, my persistent coughing is cured although I still suffer from SOB. Forstair makes me feel a little anxious and shakey, sometimes the shake is visible in my hands, its not very pleasant but it is better than how I used to feel. The Consultant says to give it a few months and he will reassess if things don't sett!e. So for me it mag be a case of better the devil I know!

Yes, I have noticed a tremor too. I am also late onset asthma after months of illness. As soon as I took Fostair I was better. It’s just the anxious jittery edgy feeling.

Sleeping is difficult too

Seems like we both have same side effects, like you sleep is not easy either. Perhaps we are sensitive to the affects of steroids in the system, as you said its not pleasant but for me its better than uncontrolled Asthma.

Are you sure that it is not the other way around? Before you take your dose your breathing will be harder and hence have lower oxygen levels that can dull the mind. You take your Fostair and quite quickly you are able to breathe properly again and your mind "waking up".

I use Fostair and it does start working very quickly after taking it.

Thanks 2 greys.

I don’t feel bad before I take it?

It has stabilised my asthma I guess as I am not symptomatic before I take it.

I see the asthma nurse next week so will discuss with her. I am reluctant to change as my lungs clearly like it. It’s just the anxious mood thing.

Ive given up on forstair. I wanted it to replace seretide hopefully to lose my hoarse voice. But after a week only, had a terrible night, couldnt get my breath so couldnt sleep. Went to see pharmacist, back on seretide now and fine again.

We are all so different. I was really upset when my Seretide was replaced by Fostair but I find it far better and more versatile; saw my doc last week with residual infection from gross virus and he has given me a solemn undertaking that Fostair will not be replaced - not only that but he has re-instated Spiriva for the Braltus which made me very wheezy and sob but which seems to suit others. Make what you will of it.
