Bipap machine
Hello Sc99By,
If you need a BiPAP machine it will be given to you by your respiratory team at your hospital. They will fit it and set it for you.
Is there any reason you want to buy one for yourself?
Sue
When I needed a CPAP machine the NHS provide a basic model with a fixed pressure - I purchased an automatic model and find the pressure (set by the NHS @ 9) varied on one night from a low of 5 to a high of 13 (pressure range is 4 - 20). I simply wanted the best nights sleep I could get.
Sc99By542, you are aware of the prices? My CPAP, from Resmed was around £650 - they also make BiPAP machines - might be worth a conversation with them
Thanks so much for the information. I dont seem to et along with the CPAP. I am a severe asthmatic, ithought i might get along better with the BIPAP. I know they are expensive, this is why ineed more information. I hope to find a company that will hire one out
Please don't use one Unless medically advised to do so. Although they are wonderful life savers they can also cause much damage to the lungs.
I was prescribed (they have to be) privately so I had to pay for mine, very expensive £5000 it is a Phillips respironics. A40. With humidifier. It's very quiet and am very pleased with it. Only let a qualified person au just the settings though.
