Significant emphysema
No way of knowing Deana. I would guess the damage in your lungs is more than mild but if you're wanting information you would need to ask what stage you are at - mild, moderate, severe or very severe (1,2,3 or 4) and whether the emphysema is widespread throughout your lungs or in particular parts of it.
Thank you O2 trees, he said that he couldn't find a healthy bit of lung tissue on the ct scan. My lung capacity is 37%.
Hi
For me it meant that the lungs were pretty shot but treatment is available subject to age & a referral from your GP. Follow this up, mine are now completely shot and there is no cure or treatment I can now have. I also have cancer and cannot be considered for stem cell.

My consultant discharged me and said there was nothing else he could do for me. 2 years ago I had to have my thyroid out due to a lump that was suspicious. When I told the consultant he was horrified and told me to watch out for pains in my bones and heart. I am just getting on with my life now as I know there are people much worse off than me. Thank you for replying and I hope you are feeling ok. Take care of yourself.
