Has anyone got any tips on regaining good saturation levels after bad chest infection. My sats became a probelem with chest infection in new year and still trying to get to normal although they have improved. Thanks

Saturation levels
Good morning, ol-ly11. I'm sorry I can't help you with your question. Perhaps you could contact the BLF nurses on 03000 030 555 and they might be able to give you some advice.
Sats should return (near) to your normal c8-12 weeks after you've cleared the cr*p out, in my recent experience... but we may be all different. A good huffing technique & bit gentle exercise (keep an eye on the sats) may help.
Best wishes
I too am having problems regaining the sats levels. Had lung infection and pneumonia starting December/January. trying to do a few exercises to regain my levels. They go down when I walk around but regain to 93/94 when sitting. It is worrying. My lung specialist says it takes quite a while to get back to normal. I am beginning to think I never will.

Following a very bad viral infection in early December I was told in no uncertain terms that it would be _months_ before I would be "anything like" normal. My SATs still struggle to reach their norm of 94 but I've been sent back to rehab so it seems that the answer is "exercise", once more: walking, step-ups, whatever you can do -- but don't overdo it because that will put you back again.
Learn to be gentle with yourself; do what you can, but no more. Most of all be as patient as you can.
