Thanks Bernadette not much faith in them at the mo it took years of seeing all the Docters then it was a chest specialist that said it was asthma

Hello and welcome!

Now they've had the diagnosis from the specialist, they can listen to your chest and tell you if you have a chest infection or if there's inflammation. If they can't manage that you could perhaps change your doctor.

Be well, Sue x

Some of the inhalers can make you cough more try using a spacer it does help a lot

I use a spacer I've used my first inhaler yesterday and today and the cough seems to have gone do you think maybe the second one is bit as good or are they all pretty much the same

They can all have different effects on different people Steve - find the ones that suit you and stick with them.

It seems possible that the reason you were coughing is because of your asthma. If you've only just started taking inhalers and the coughing has since eased then you were having an exarcerbation of your asthma. Thankfully the inhalers will take care of that for you.

If you find yourself unable to stop coughing and/or short of breath after using your inhalers then you need to contact your gp asap.

I hope your asthma remains under control and easy to manage. Sadly, through poor management and years of neglect my asthma became brittle asthma with a side helping of bronchiectasis. So it's worth looking after your condition to avoid it getting worse.
