COPD Flare ups - 2016 vs 2015

HNY!

So - how many times did you need ABs/steroids (or fought through it..) in 2016 compared to 2015?

I've had a nightmare last quarter 2016 - I've had 3 flare-ups in the last 3 months plus one in Spring.

Contrast that with 2015 - none, zilch, nowt - had a couple of colds but didn't 'go' to chest, didn't need rescue pack.

I'm hoping it's not me getting worse...

Hi Soulsaver. I've had nothing for 4 years, but the end of 2016 well and truly got me. Had it for 4 weeks and still can't get rid!

Pete has not done too badly soulsaver, but you never can tell. He takes Azithromycin three times a week so maybe that helps. You take care and have a healthier 2017. xxx

I had four last year, but that was better than 2015 when I lost count. Started one yesterday - 1st January - don't think much of the White Rabbits! - and am going back under the duvet.

I don't think it's because you're getting worse but infections don't help your lungs. Speak to your GP about Azithromycin because it can reduce the number of infections.

I've been the same, the last 3 months have been awful and I'm down with another one now. I wonder if all the bugs have thrived as it's been so mild.

I had a bad one beginning of 2015 but then was mostly ok. 2016 saw me on steroids and antibiotics for months at a time I picked up a virus beginning of November I still on steroids and had 2 antibiotics for it. I started sneezing and coughing this morning praying that it doesn't turn into anything
