Has anyone heard of plural gases and more importantly has anyone been diagnosed with it. According to the internet people suffering with copd can suffer sore chests similar to the feeling of indigestion. I have always suffered with indigestion but now when I do any work I nd up with a sore chest for hours. Any thoughts

Plueral gases
Hi Mike well I have never heard of anything called (plural gases) I am presuming its the same as what I call trapped wind. I have been having trapped wind for years it can start in the chest and feel like having a heart attack (although I have never had a heart attack so I cannot see how how I would know) lol. My trapped wind would work its way around from my chest to my side and then my back the pain is unbearable at times it puts so much pressure on my lungs that I would end up struggling for breath. I actually ended up phoning the COPD nurse something I have never done before and I was advised to take Lansoprazole every morning with my meds. Apparently the gas's originate from the stomache so they said. Anyways I started taking Lansoprazole each morning and also when I have any spicy foods which I love although I know I should not have them. I think over the past few months I have only had it back about twice and that was only for a short while. But it does leave the chest rather sore for a few days afterwards. I hope this helps. Good luck
Been on lanzaprazal for years but chest is only sore after any physical exercise. If you look on the internet pleural gases is what the body produces to stop the lungs rubbing on the chest wall. Thanks for the reply
I have suffered Reflux for years and do get a lot of wind. (I have put an extra 2 " on my tummy because of wind!) Funny thing is if I press on my left side in the same spot I very often will get my wind up. It is not a lot of pressure either? Yesterday I did a spirometry test at my GP and I popped in the same spot and it has hurt ever since?
