As you know I spent last week in hospital. Purely through coincidence I had a regular on going consultation with the guys from Papworth hospital. I went yesterday fearing the worst. When diagnosed back in 2014 that any chest infection would progress the fibrosis in my lungs. How ever I did a lung function test with the results confirming that I did better than the time before. So no real signs of progression. So happy days think I dodged a bullet this time. The consultant was really impressed with my weight loss from February weighing in at huge 137.4kg yesterday I came in at 121.2 kg. they set me a target of 100kg so well on my to that target albeit slowly. The major hurdle I have to overcome is the steroid reduction. Currently on 25mg a day. Target initially is to go down to 15mg a day. Each time I try it brings on my very persistent dry cough and feeling of irritation in my lungs. This time they have asked me to reduce the dose and when the coughing starts take codine linctus which is a cough suppressant. So the fight goes on to try and reach these targets set. I think it's my general level of fitness that has enabled me to get over this setback. So huge thank you's go out to Peter Azzopardi my personal trainer who patiently puts me through my limited paces twice a week he also advises on my diet as well. So in all happy days really I was fearing a lot worse. Conclusion to this is try and stay positive and try and keep active as you can the physio so days is done through gritted teeth at times but I stick with because it's proved invaluable on this occasion . Thank you for your support and for listening and sorry for going on a bit. TimS.

Tim you are doing really well and well done on the lung function test results. Keep fighting on and good wishes to you. Xxxxx
Well done Tim, and a good result! Keep at it, I'm trying to lose more than a few pounds, and quite pleased with myself so far. Think it's mindset, when your feeling rough it disappears. Xx
TimS154 a truely big pat on the back for you for having designed a fitness regime and loosing some weight to enable a better quality of life. Looking forward to hearing how you continue to strive.

That's an impressive weight loss - esp while still taking the evil predisolone! I know how horrible it was when I came off it. Just keep going.
