I have not tried it ,but I belong to a group in the US and some on there have with no success, From what I have gathered there is very little good results from it.
Hi if you type stem cell treatment in the search box on the right you will see preious posts about it. x
Here is one opinion that I would agree with in the states. I have not seen any independent scientific data about the treatments offered. I looked at it out of curiosity but it is a high price for something needing much more research first, in my opinion.
"Several clinics both within and outside of the United States have been created and promise to use autologous stem cells (such as those from an individual’s fat tissue) to treat a variety of incurable diseases including COPD. These clinics make claims of effectiveness and even cure but none provide direct scientific proof. In addition the US Food and Drug Administration has not approved this therapy to treat COPD."

Have you seen warnings try to find people who have been treated
Obburgei,
I had the stem cell treatment done at the Nashville site of the Lung Institute in late December. I have bronchiectasis, which is more complicated than COPD (weakening of the airways). I had the more aggressive treatment (bone marrow) for $11,000. As you know, insurance won't cover, so it's out of pocket.
I can't say that it has helped me. I knew going into the treatment that it would not help me with the weakening of the airways. But I had hoped that I would have less infections and an improvement of lung function. It has been months, they said I should start to see results in 3.
I wish I had better news, maybe I need to give it more time or I could be worse now if I didn't have it done.

Healthy,
It's been over two years since I had the stem cell treatment. I started to notice an improvement in my health about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Two years ago, we moved to an area of the states that has less air pollution (moved closer to the kids, and grandkids). Less trees around (allergies). Also, three years ago, I retired from a stressful job, a job I enjoyed, but I usually put my job before my health.
In the past year, I have been able to decrease my meds. Was on prednisone 40mg per day for years and still was miserable. Now I'm down to 5mg per day.
I go about my daily activities with little shortness of breath. I still use my nebulizer twice a day. I have not had an ER visit, hospital stay, bronchoscopy or pneumonia in over two years. It has been years since I have gone this long.
Several times, I have felt a cold, congestion coming on. I was able to get over it with over the counter meds. I the past, I would end up having either a hospital stay and/or a bronchoscopy.
My specialist showed me that my numbers keep improving, that I'm in the normal range for my age, weight and gender. I'm a 68 yr old female of average weight of 125 lbs.
This illness was a major part of my life, now it's just a minor part.
I would like to think that the treatment did help me but I'm not sure. It sure didn't hurt me.
