Good morning :-)

I'd love that Lucy - sadly I live too far away from you in North West England. I hope you get a good response and have a great time.

xx

Hi Jennifer thank you for replying, sorry you live so far away, are you undergoing treatment? I have had 4 chemos which were tough xx

Hello again Lucy - so sorry - I did not read the title of your letter properly. I have copd, which is nothing compared to what you have been through. Hoping the chemo is tailing off now. I do understand just how tough it is..... friends and close family, and I wish you well.

I would have come anyway :-D

xx

would be nice Jennifer if we all lived a bit closer to each other and had a big meet up ,but I expect I would need ear plugs if you Jessy , velvet and onamission were there ,

OY!! and there I was thinking you were nice - we could have swapped plants and stuff, and all the time you were thinking not very nice things about us. You should know by now that women were born to talk and men were born to listen. Anyway I'm off to check on my sweet peas - yesterday I had a devil of a job to keep a pair of collar'd doves away - I had to protect the plants with a Heath Robinson affair of canes, nets and flapping raffia. How did they know what I was putting in?

born to listen its cos we cant get a word in , luckily don't get any pigeons where we are now had enough of them at the old house , its always the same with gardening , if its not the weather its some pest trying to spoil our hard work sound like you got the plants well protected you will have to put merlin on guard duty to see them off

in reply tommzetor

heh heh - he'd just wag his tail and smile - "oooh more friends for me" you know what Labs are like. Did I tell you about me losing my cardigan the other morning? I realised when we were nearly home, so I said to him, just stay there, I won't be a minute - think he was glad of the rest. Rushed back the way we came and found it. When I got back again, he was still sitting in the same place, with his lead in his beak, and a lady was taking his photograph.

lol jet still chase it if it moves cant make out why the birds can get on the fence and sit there and he cant ,you got him well trained then or like you say he wanted a rest. have you not learnt him not to talk to strangers ,

in reply tommzetor

Jet sounds like good fun. I think normally he would have followed me, but I hate to think about it, he is slowing down for he has arthritis in his right hip and his front left leg. The Tramadol helps but I'm not happy about his vet increasing his steroids for poor lad is double hungry now and dribbles.

Hi Lucy, I would love to meet for coffee but I live in Kent. I had six chemo last year, only partial remission. Since January I have been on a Phase one Trial at Guys. It is tough going but had some shrinkage and at present stable.

If you would like to PM me at any time please do so.

Good luck with your treatment but stay in there fighting.

Hi Suzy, you have done so well, I thought the pill treatment would be easier than chemo, does it have bad side effects? I will give the pm a try thank you xx

Hi there is a lung cancer site on here called (I think) the roy castle something. x

Hi cough, yes you are correct The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. It is informative but not as lively or entertaining as my favourite, this one.

Love Suzyxxx

in reply toSuzy6

Ha ha. This site is certainly unique, some of them are deadly serious which are very good but a bit of fun along the way is much better. x

Hi, I hope your meet up goes well but I live much to far from Romford to come. Not too sure I belong now as I had a Lobectomy in 2013. All is well & I just have another 2 years lung cancer follow up. Even though I am 'cured' the experience of lung cancer remains with me. I still have currently stable asthma and moderate to severe copd. Some people as me do develop lung cancer; when they already have chest conditions. Good luck, Margaret x

Hi Margaret thank you for your reply, sorry you don't live nearer! You have done fantastic, it is such a shock to be told lung cancer and as each diagnosis is different we just don't know how it is going to affect us in the future, I wish you all the best keep fighting and smiling xx

that's a nice idea for those close to you and imagine good support for each other

Oh you are so right. We all need support. There were five of us on the trial met twice a week, Tuesday Clinic Wednesday treatment then four one taken off, two weeks ago three taken off. At the moment just lonely me.

Might be someone joining me this Tuesday. Hope so.

The nurses, doctors and all the staff are brilliant but nobody to fully understand what you are going through and your inner thoughts and fears.
