vicks vapor rub

Has anyone ever used vicks vaoor rub to loosen congestion in chest anf if so did it work?

I grew up with Vic vapour rub.  Think I prefer Olbas but that wasnt around when I was young.

Yes prefer Vicks and I find it very God to clear a stuffy head to, it works best if wan get someone to rub it on your back ,good luck

Yes and oil of olbas and i inhale too - at the moment I'm needing it

My daughter had an awful cough n cold when a friend suggested rubbing into the feet at night covering with socks. I thought she was a lil crazy but my daughter had a good night sleep. Xx

Yes...but not if you use oxygen.

My mum uses it. But I guess everyone could be different as it may irritate. St least with the olbas you can put it on a tissue / hankie that way if it did irritate could remove easily.

I know when I was small when  us kids got sick we were rubbed down with vicks.

I've heard that too, must try it sometime. Feet are supposed to have an effect on other parts of the body. I have a friend who is a reflexologist and she swears by it.

I also use Vic's vapour rub, though my wife complains as she hates the smell. I always sleep better when I use it.

I have always been told by my gp  that just steam works as well no need for any additions. I find it works for me. I can't use Vicks or menthol etc as it makes me breathless and cough. Gps also said breath in steam from hot drinks throughout the day as this works just the same

don't use Vick 'cos I'm on oxygen but Olbas is excellent.
