Can we please turn the temp down.

It is lovely that the sun is shining and all the plants are growing and showing us themselves in all their beauty but boy is it hot out ... went out the back and sat in the shade with the dog and within a few minutes I had to go back in panting for breath ... so here I am upstairs in my office with a fan on and the air filter on and still sweltering ... I would love to do some gardening but I know I will end up back inside within a few minutes ... is anyone else suffering breathlessness from this heat.

It tried to thunder and rain around 11 am but that only lasted a few minutes so went and steamed the parrots and let them out for a bit ( even they are hot today ) might take one in the shower with me later

and let him have a good soak.

Hi, Suffering the same problem as you, have my fan on as well. Went to Asda yesterday and felt really bad, gasping for air, my husband drove me straight back home. Didn't go to bed until 3am but still struggled to sleep, have Asthma as well as Copd which is bad when all this pollen is around. Went into the garden earlier but came straight back in, the heat is overwhelming. Not planning to go out for the rest of the week as I cant cope! Hope you are okay with your feathered friends, as much as I love them I am allergic to them . Anyway you are not on your own, many of us here will be suffering with the heat. Roll on the rain ! Tina.

Hi Tina I too have asthma with the copd but I dont think i can stay in for the rest of the week as the dog will haul me out tonight when it is cooler, and I would climb the walls and be totally even more unbearable to my other half who has the patience of a saint ... lets hope it persistantly piddles it down tonight.

Hi susteart...just to say hi and how nice to read about your animals - great pics of your German Shepherd growing up and I'm sure he and your parrots are wonderful companions.

I sure wish we could turn the temperature down :( never have liked the heat much and yes, it's causing even more breathlessness than usual. Barely able to do any jobs (housework stuff) - tried using the electric carpet sweeper a while ago and had to keep stopping; felt like I was gonna keel over!

By the way, see that you live somewhere in the region..I'm in the east midlands.

Hi Lovelight, Yes I love my feathered and furries had to give up my riding a couple of years ago as I just couldnt get enough breath to do the dressage that I used to do (im also a qualified riding instructor so I really miss this terribly) I live in the Atherstone area not far from Tamworth. As for housework i used to be so house proud but now I just tell people that they can write in the dust but dont date it. The housework will still be there when Ive got a good day so I try to do the minimal ... my mum always said to do three things every day .. wash up and leave the sink tidy and shine the taps .... fold clothes up and put them straight away .... Have lots of cushions (great for hiding a multitude of sins)
