A very hard decision has to be made, Matt. Difficult for anyone else to advise. For me, being of a certain age, for myself, I could advise to go for the treatment. It might be useful to ask about people in a similar situation. All the very best xx
Oh goodness Matt. What a decision you have there. What do the family think?
Very best to you whatever you decide. P xx

What are your options ? A good thing to do is write down all the pros and cons of choosing the drugs or not choosing them. How has your pain level been since you went into hospital ? Have they got a department/consultant in pain management that you could discuss these options with ? I hope you can work out the decision that's best for you. Good Luck !
Hi Matt, what are your alternatives? Can you find out more before signing anything? There must be info on trials etc; ask for more time maybe also what fev1 do you have, the people who had collapsed lungs was their lung condition worse? Think I would ask for more time, thinking of you its a bit of a difficult call, huff x
Hi MC, before every procedure I've had to go through I have always had to sign a disclaimer to say that you understand the risks. The list is always long and never make for good reading but sometimes we have no choice. I guess you have to ask yourself can you go on as you are or do you sign and take a chance and that's a tough decision that only you can make.
I can compare it a little to signing the transplant forms and my decision was to go for it.

Hi Matt,
I feel for you, and what a difficult decision you have to make. I would tend to agree with huff and Argana and get more information, such as what percentage of people on these drugs, at your degree of lung disease has lung failure. I think I mentioned pain management to you before, but you have probably been there already. I think you need more time to talk about this and to think through the information, and also to do your own research into the various drugs if you want to. There are bound to be forums with people who have lung disease and RA, as well as this one, and hopefully someone can come along and give you more insight than I can. Wishing you well, and the best of luck with your difficult decision. Sorry I cannot help, but you have my support.
Take care,
hugs from Huggs xx
Oh Matt that is a hard one. I couldn't possibly advise. You need to think hard about what you need and want. It has to be a personal decision and one that you will not regret. The best of luck xxx
A tough one for you and Fran and the family Matt. Lots of sensible advice from the others so have little to add except that my very best wishes go to you all.

Hi Matt life is never easy eh.
Hospitals have to cover themselves because of being sued. Everytime I have an angiogram I have to sign that same paper, accepting the risks ,death being one of the risks. I don't know what the percentages are of this drug having an adverse effect are,the fact they have suggested it. Means that it is entirely possible that it will help and improve your quality of life, which is the reason you have asked for help to deal with the dreadful pain that you suffer with on a daily basis. The docs have to explain the risks to us it's their job. It is a worry for you, but digest it all and discuss with your family . You will make the right decision for you at the end of the day. Goodluck Matt . Blessing to you Janexx
A hard decision Matt. I wish you the best.
