Having been refused pip in June2014 after appeal. After speaking with age uk a month later as my health had gone down hill, we summitted another appeal. They texted me to say recieved. Left the 27weeks only to find out it had been sent back from assessment along with others with no reason given. In that whole time, heard nothing from them. Phoned last week and they thought l had a face to face, which was not the case. So said they would ask for another look into my case. Phone again about ten mins later another lady as certain things did not add up.. She said it had not gone to assessment was how she read it. Once again she said she would add note, as to getting it speeded up as over the twenty-seven weeks and nothing done.
That was followed by, the assessment people could just send it back and ask us to decide....how confusing is that. Two different ladies giving different information as to what's happening with my pip.
So anyone applying for it, keep on their backs or u to could be forgotten. Perhaps as it is my second appeal, who knows. But from now on , every couple of weeks l will be on the phone.
Hello Pamilia, I hope your appeal goes well for you, just try to think of it as them saving up for you as you will receive your entitlement from the day you first claimed!! I would recommend subscribing to benefitsandwork, their advice is wonderful should you have any problems, all the best huff xxx
Thanks for info. Never heard of the group u mentioned. Don't work so perhaps that why. Used age.UK as l am an oap plus local. Will look into that group and see what if any they can do to help. As for backdating money, yes, they do, but first l need to be awarded it....that is subject to my case even being assessed,as it seems to have been lost I. The system. So fingers crossed. Sava
HelloPamilia, one has to keep at them,I kept phoning up just to confirm my name was still in the system, advice from " benefits work ".So make sure you keep at them. You might find my last post of interest.I wish you the best of luck, regards D.
Even though it has been said in parliament that all is on track now in the real world it is still in meltdown. with the length of time it has gone on for now, I would speak to you MP
Hi pamilia sorry to hear your having problems with PIP you are in a very long line of people with the same problem from what I have read and from talking to people I would recommend every time you call them make a note of the time date and name of the person you talk to and a quick note of what they said. I waited 13 months I think they lost my claim I went to my local job centre and they rang them for me in the end I was turned down.
I would like to campaign for all the people who have long term medical conditions and have the rules changed so that they are automatically awarded benefit it make me so mad when people with no medical knowledge can asses us even after they have received letters from consultants
Thanks for your words. I was turned down, appealed and turned down again. This is my second time l have applied. Seems the rules don't say you can't. Even age uk checked for me. So l thought why not, try again.
Hard to understand why certain people get excepted against others. If u have a disability and can prove it, backed up with consultant letters, that should be enough.
I did not appeal I asked them to send me the reason for turning me down they could not I thought of appealing but might of still been waiting now I just filled in another form by which time Capita had taken over in my area and they seem a bit better
On the form they send you saying you have been refused, is a statement saying why and that outlines also remarks made by the face to face person....at least that's what l was told. You have two chances to appeal, if first fails then you can go to court which can take a year or more.
Not sure how long you waited before as applying again, but fingers crossed. You might not be forgotten like me. Keep me informed please, love to hear. Phoning them Fri, to check on my progress, been over week.......should be interesting.
