'DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
The usual dose for adults and children 12 years and older is two inhalations (400 mcg) repeated every 4-6 hours.
One inhalation (200 mcg) repeated every 4-6 hours may be sufficient for some patients.
A total daily dose of 12 inhalations should not be exceeded.'
Thanks stilltruckin, I was told use the inhaler as and when I needed it by I respiratory nurse.but what you have stated seems right.
There's always a good margin of error built into any recommended dose, so I wouldn't worry about exceeding it occasionally. But obviously if you need to do that on a regular basis you should inform your doctor.
I go many many days without using my blue Easi-Breath. I think that's partly because I always thought it was for emergencies &/or asthma attacks.
Recently during an infection a new GP told me to use it 4 times daily and oh my, what a difference. It's really helped me this winter.
Also when my sats are dropping at night I'm having a puff before bed or during the night and that really helps too
I was told by my copd nurse just to use it as and when. So I use it for around 2 puffs a day if I am a bit sob or coughing a lot. I always take 2 puffs just before bed because I have asthma as well and it seems to have stopped the attacks in the middle of the night. My last one was very frightening. x
