Hello Aidi

Did you feel the forms in yourself.

No,I actually took my forms to a lady who fills them out on a daily basis for people as she works in a advice centre and that is all sh does. If you are knocked back she helps people to appeal against the decision. I was told that they are the best people to do it for you.

Why were you refused? That's what you need to know. this enables you to argue your case.

They should give you a reason as to why you did not qualify? Also what points you were given. With the new 20 metre walk condition that is catching a lot out so they kick you out of mobility section and it seems to go on. I can walk 20 metres but it does not mean I am not in pain or out of breath. I can shop with my wife if I hold onto the trolley and she pulls it around with me. But that is me finished for the rest of the day. I was refused because of my dexterity even though they agreed that there would be no improvement to my health and in time could worsen!

If you say you can walk 20 metres on a good day , you should measure yourself on a bad day, that is the criteria. Also if you say you can shop with the help of a trolley you will be disqualified. My husband has stage 4 renal disease, heart disease, diabetic and brain stem ischemia. It wasn't until he was unable to go the shops etc that he got DLA. He kept filling the forms in as if he had a good day everyday. Hope this helps.
