Blood gas test is checking how good your lungs are exchanging oxygen co2 etc

Think its most definitive test the more co2 in ya blood the more your a retainer .. a dont think thay have score as such .. think its more % than anything.

Last letter i had said stuff about copd and gas retaining 20%

But all depends on condition .. as i assume newton's law mass quanty voluime

Hope that helps cheers all the best

Thanks for reply and link but must admit I don't have the head to take in that much info I have Asthma and IPF and when the nurse did the test she said If it was 8 "don't know what that ment"! I will have to have 02 for 15 hrs a day and it was 7.8. So they want to do it again in three weeks to see how it reads then. I have ambulatory 02 and it appears my condition has got worse. Although a few days after the test I got a chest infection and am taking antibiotics. So the test will have to wait until I'm clear according to instructions.

Thanks Blakeyc

These are interesting links and I am really glad to have found the confidence to ask questions I have read a lot on this site but am finding more advice each day. I have a referral from the lung clinic I was attending to a more experienced lung centre and will be going through all the tests again so I don't feel I've been hung out to dry.
