I google all the time. and learnt much from the Australian Lung foundation website - pre BLF days (that's before this community even existed. In fact if it wasn't for ALF I would have been floundering in the dark.

So for me googling or web searching is great, a world encyclopedia - you just need to be selective in what you read when you search the world wide web.

My advice to those living in the UK and not familiar with the www, is when searching for health related articles, always add NHS or UK (or both) after what you are searching for. **

Ah -- "Dr Google": turns emphysema into an absolute nightmare with imminent death right behind!! The internet is great for all kinds of things, Suzy6, but as you found, not necessarily for lung disease, diagnosis, prognosis... Respiratory specialists are best for that
