I know the anti biotics dont work so well in alcohol and carbon dioxide is made fermenting wine more of that no lungs want. All things in moderation when a drop of red wine is a heart helper (glass of wine with no cigarette is a tough one I have reached out for them without thinking old habit) something for the blood.

Hi, I am on the same medication as you I have severe COPD , Brochiectasis , For the past couple of years and increasing I produce a hell of a lot of mucus (a very large amount ) on a daily basis, I have been told this is because of scarring on my lungs and the Brochiectasis, I do notice if I drink white wine for whatever reason the mucus is much thicker and harder to move, but doesnt seem as bad as when I have red its still awful though, but hey our quality of life is not so good it seems unfair to deprive ourselves of everything so everything in moderation I say, hope this helps, `(drink plenty of water before you go to bed I find this helps a little) xx take care

carolg 1,i think it must be the white what is not good,as when I brought it back I thought it was as I was teetotaller, but it set solid in the yard, anything in moderation but drinking is a no for me,and if you live on your own extra care is needed hence, some might like a drink and then think have I taken my medication or not and then take them again when they have already done, so caution but enjoy xxx my drink is tea lemonade water ,,

I have never been a drinker that was a 1 of ,I,ve read up on the wine and its the red what is ok .but if your on your own be careful not to much,my 2 kids live with there parteners and my niece as just moved in with her partener and the other is moving in april to be near work but they are hear and not but keep me up on exercises ,so ,im on my own as in just me but I prefare that way,do you exercise at home ?

Hi brooke12, a little bit of what you fancy does you good so they say. However it is a know factor that the sulphur in red wine can interfere with the breathing. If you have no effects then why not enjoy a glass but beware of any contra indications if taking drugs.

Hi I drink red and rosa and white according to what I'm having to eat and I couldn't do without having that to look forward to some evenings so just make sure you know it's doing you good and not making you ill and only you will know if you are taking one too many so back to moderation and plenty of water

Hmm I don't know weather it effects copd it only effects you if your breathing is effective
