I have Interstitial Lung Disease and the form of it is BOOP or Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia <COP>. I also have Bronchiectasis which is the destruction of the alveoli. Some of it is reversible depending on your health, smoker, non-smoker, age, etc. There are also different types of Bronchiectasis. Mine is called "Traction Bronchiectasis" the pneumonia in my upper lobes restricted the bronchi and pulled on them causing them to stretch abnormally and close. Some reversed some did not. Remember, everyone is different and the path to healing is different for everyone. Do not use examples on this site or any site to alleviate fears or confirm them. Every organism reacts differently to drugs. The best advice should come from your doctor who can take all of the above criteria and formulate an educated prognosis. My situation is my own. So when reading about Bronchiectasis please remember that info, and those stats were not derived from studies on YOU. Have faith, you will get better once they lock in on getting all the meds right and treating you accordingly. Good health to all from across the pond.
