No, sorry can`t explain but perhaps someone else might come by who can. I have just tried mine on both hands and although the readings fluctuate they settle down to the same figure.

Have you tried it on all your fingers to see any changes?

I have looked into oximeters and are quite up in the air really.

Anyway a lashed mine across room and cant find it but befour a lost it

A was reading the longer it takes to get reading more dieased your heart is .. but that could be down to poor ciculation too.

Oximeters send light threw your finger and it is picked up at other end .. So really anything can affect reading such as hand creams etc etc

So you are always best getting doing 3 and taking average .. But dont use same finger.

O ye did read when your reading is higher than 98 thats CO2 retaing

Hope that helps cheers all the best :)

Should be no difference no matter which finger or hand is used.

When I saw the COPD nurse at Hospital I mentioned to her I meant to bring my oximeter to compare its accuracy with hers she told me to throw it away and don't use one. Her reply to my question how will I know if my levels are too low was your lips will go blue. My reply was is that when I phone the morgue. Still pondering.

Thanks Suzy for your reply. I was advised at the P.R. Course to buy one.
