I keep getting heartburn (well I assume it is, not suffered it untill this past couple of weeks ) it's a burning sensation in my throat .

i have suffered heartburn for many years,normally like a blockage pain in my chest

i find the only thing that helps me is Rennie, i think mine was caused by acid reflux

Hi just got ANOTHER inhaler as previous not suiting ..this 1 is called ipratropium it's got a funny taste when it hits back of throat ..hoping this 1 suitable dr said to try it for a few weeks for my lungs to get used to it ...personally I thinking about requesting to see a pulmonary consultant : sue

I will b 60 , but a young 1 lol ...I am a Scorpio ...think u r a Sagittarius ( a saggy arse lol ) it's a really good site , feel more positive about my condition & how to cope ( when I first found out I felt really low ) it's just getting right inhalator on my second 1 as first 1 was brill in my breathing was much improved ,but my nose was really sore & I could not stop itching ...this inhaler is ok but I have started wi heartburn will get some gaviscon for it

A quick cure for indigestion is a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda ( not baking powder/soda ) in half a cup of water. It doesn't taste nice but it sure is an instant cure !

I think a visit to your doc may be in order micky, this sounds like acid reflux to me and its not something that should go untreated. Rennies might work but you may need something stronger which your doctor can prescribed. Of course it might not be acid reflux but best to get things clarified so can use the correct medicine to treat it.

yes thank you bc heavy drinker for years doesn't happen when not drinking

which i'm not now,lost mom in may from lung cancer so trying to stay way from the drink and ciggies

Hi Sue

Like others have said - you really ought to get this checked out by your doctor - acid reflux can affect breathing and chest problems. Also it can often be a side effect of some of the medications many of us take. In the interim you may find that Gaviscon liquid helps.

I would agree with all i had bad acid most days and could burp for England got a point of being tad on top esp when out .. But that was before a got diagnosed anyway go docs as can make your condition worse

Hope it goes well on Wednesday. I keep Gaviscon on tap in the bathroom and usually find I make a trip for it at least twice a week,. I think It might be medication - but I also dont eat for at least two hours before bedtime.

I take my omeprozole and also take peptic liquid when I get grungy coughs I suffer AF as well so it is a problem knowing what is causing the discomfort

my doc prescribed omeprazole for acid reflux ,as pred causes it .she said not to stop as acid can damage lungs even more !

Hi kujude, I have acid reflux and your GP is right - pred does cause it, or make it worse if you have it anyway. But do you get the enteric coated pred? they have a red coating on them and get absorbed bit lower down than the stomach so dont affect acid production. Now when i have to take pred I have less trouble - the reflux was horrendous before. GPs dont always want to prescribe the enteric coated ones as they are more expensive. jean

Hi I am seeing the ENT consultant in Oct about this feeling of a mass of mucus in my throat - on looking on line it seems lots of people have it and it can be linked to acid reflux but not always. I know it feels yucky. No one seems to know of a good treatment though. Barnsleysue - my tests proved I had a heart which works well - reassuring isnt it!!!!!
