Does anyone know which drink besides water has the least calories, ie tea or squash for instance?

No calories in black tea; adding milk obviously will add them and sugar, even more.

Freshly squeezed lemon in water has zero calories too.

Tea has no calories if you take it black and with no sugar. Its all about what you add. Its surprising the amount of calories in a few cups of tea using semi skimmed milk (26 calories per cup), same with coffee. Low calorie squash is very low in calories as is diet coke etc. I tend to drink just plain water but I know thats not for everyone. Also when checking the labels the calories are usually shown per 100ml, so you will need to multiply them by the amount you will actually drinking.

I too tend to stick with water, but I am guessing that there are. Some very low calorie diet pop drinks too. Like diet coke etc.

The are some zero calorie fizzy drinks but they actually stimulate my sweet tooth to go and eat something!!! I had to kick them into touch.

lots of evidence that they are best used in moderation, if at all, if you want to keep the calories down

Best wishes

Kevin

Fizzy water sometimes tricks you into thinking it is a less boring drink than water - but only plain! All the flavoured teas are pretty good as usually you have them without milk - but check the label. AND I think weightwatcher do a range of food etc. Good Luck. TAD xx

My friend loves the whittard flavoured teas - but I noticed he had put on weight. I looked at the label and they were 90 calories a cup!! He was drinking about 10 cups a day. I love fizzy water too - its my drink of choice if I am out for a meal or something - much less boring than plain water - especially if its got ice and a couple of slices!

if you mean those drum shaped packages that they have nice cold tastey samples of in their shops - it's almost pure sugar, flavoured & coloured.

There are even about 4 heaped teaspoons of sugar in an Innocent smoothie, ok it's just fructose but it's still sugar.

I'm not a fan of plain water how ever much I try so I drink a pint during the night when I dont want to muck up my clean teeth & too tired to care.

During the day I'll add a tiny amount of of sugarfree lemon squash to a bottle of water for flavour it & eep it in the fridge.

AM my decff skinny lattes and afternoons decaff tea. Cheers!

Teas without milk and sugar would be less than fruit juices or squash. Twinings do some tasty combinations, the fruit teas are good for the summer in that you can take them hot or cold with ice and a slice of orange or a strawberry half sliced through, perched on the edge of the glass.

Herbal teas only have 2 calories, they come in loads of flavours, I started drinking them years ago and no longer like drinking normal tea. Also they have no caffeine. Hope that helps x

Thanks for all the replies, I do already drink herbal tea some of the time and there are lots of different flavours to chose from. Don't take sugar in my drinks only milk in coffee and normal tea. But I do like fruit juices which I think probably have a lot of calories. Even little changes like herbal tea can help. Need to stop eating Ithink as I can't do strong enough exercise to lower my weight. Thanks for all the help herbal tea is better than water taste wise.
