i smoked for 35 years and never coughed any tar etc up so is it all stuck down there ?

I think this is possibly down to each individual, when I decided to give up smoking a mate of mine decided he would as well, I ended up in hospital with COPD coughing up nice blobs of something and he was fit as a fiddle with no side effects at all.

hi thanks for your reply strange some do but i was very breathless then diagnosed with copd 10yrs later
Think you will find the damage caused by smoking is the reason you have copd.I also believe that some of it is by the chemicals we work with,,i worked around a lot of deisel fumes and industrial chemicals for over 25 years,,dont think that helped much either
yes i realize smoking damaged the lungs my brother is 80 and still smokes and doesnt have any trouble with his chest but then he didnt have TB like i did not that i would wish it on anyone else .Then we had the thick fogs and i dont think they helped!!
I coughed as a smoker, but do not cough since I stopped but have got copd. We are all different.

I get lots of inflamation in my lungs that makes me cough when I don't have an infection it's a dry cough.
