when i had some probs a couple of weeks ago, the advice from the forum was sound....speak with the BLF helpline.
i have been told that 02 stats between 92 to 88 are ok.
the BLF lady i spoke with told me anything lower than 92 is too low......that is a big difference.
i am wondering if anyone else has met with this,and what was the outcome, wondering why the NHS has different inaccurate stats.and,how to respond to them.

Mine is about 92 nomal rest and below 88 if I overdo it. I'm on a very low rate of half a litre per minute which is usually for a child. I even have a teddy bear picture on my machine ! 
please speak with BLF,Puff,cos i am no expert, but this does seem very low
I may do but my respiratory nurse, who does the oxygen, done my 6 month visit two days ago and said everything was as it should be. Maybe different hospitals have slightly different levels ? I think in the USA 90% is considered the lowest.
I had mine done at my PR assessment. At rest I was 92 and after excercise 87. They have given me an appointment for May 3 to decide on the flow I need. That is as much as I know about sats. Sorry not to be more enlightning. Bob

.i trust the info the BLF gave me,so will see wot happens Thursday ,it wouldnt be a problem if i still had a concentrator,it was removed because of the danger of falling,.and with no increase in cylinders.M
When I was in hospital the magic number was 88 and if sats read that or below at rest you were sent home with oxygen. It seems to be different goal posts within the medical profession.
Susie,that is exactly what i feel.when i had the first review a couple of weeks ago,i felt very strongly that money came into the equation in a big way.my needs were secondary. i couldn't settle until i spoke with the BLF .It is difficult to get the guidelines they set ,within the NHS......baffling.
i was told it was ok, to eke out my canisters by using 1 litre not 2, my prescribed level !!
i will not be seeing this particular lady again, it has to be money.
I feel the same way, I was discharged from hospital with oxygen 2ltr 15 hours last November and told I would require it for life and that it was the maximum treatment I could expect to recieve, my sats were 83 on rest I have never had them tested on excercise. Following a clinic vist I was requested to drop them to 1ltr in the hope they could wean me off, last week a respiratory nurse made an impromptu visit to my home, she checked my ABG and said it was 10 I have no idea what my sats were since I was not told, both were on rest being in bed having just woken up, I was told to discontnue my use of oxygen and they would revue it in June but no other information has been given. I have been quite ill since very sob lightheaded giddy with severe cramp in my one leg, fingers toes and tum,tachycardia It has also exacerbated my virtigo attacks, I have dysthyroid eye disease with double and distorted vision and unable to use the stairs with the fear of falling especially since I have Osteporosis...I did phone their office asking if these symptoms were normal and was told "I don't know" I have writen a letter of complaint to my consultant and a request for imformation but recieved no answer so had to cancel our holiday.
Airhunter, i feel speechless.. Have you spoken with the BLF?.Please do it without delay.
Sitting here with my 1/2 litre on and my sats are 95% and heart rate of 78.

It's a shame it isn't that without the oxygen.
I can get it up to 96% without oxygen if I concentrate on breathing but to breath like that all day long would make me worn out.
