A few of you might remember that I posted about my asthma frequently flaring out of control earlier last week. I did end up starting my rescue pack of pred 😢 and I went to see my Dr this afternoon and he agrees that I need some additional support as I'm already maxed out on the treatments that they can prescribe so he's referring me to Respiratory again but I specifically asked him not to refer to the hospital where my old consultant was and he didn't argue with me when I explained about my previous encounters with that consultant so he's going to see what clinics are accepting referrals in my area but he wants to see if he can refer to a Specialist Chest Clinic in my area. Overall I'm happy that somebody listened to me and here's hoping that whoever I can referred to actually agrees to add in some extra treatment. Thanks everyone for your advice!

I'm glad to hear you have been referred back to a resp unit....I don't know your story but I'm currently in hospital, and it's been slightly funny because I was under a consultant for a few years, but she kept discharging me from from clinic, so I asked to be moved to a different consultant. It's come up here a few times that I'm now 'Dr S' patient instead. I've just explained she kept discharging me which wasn't helpful (I've just been in ICU this trip,so obviously need at least secondary care).

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that it's OK to ask for a different consultant!

Hope you start feeling better soon!

Good for you Lilmix03. Always worth asking, let's hope you don't have to wait to long for the referral appointment.
