Hi, just a reminder of the forum guidelines about alternative remedies for those posting/replying: healthunlocked.com/asthmalu...

I personally don't use eucalyptus at all and actively avoid being around it, because it triggers my asthma. For those who do use products with eucalyptus and find it helpful for eg decongesting, just another reminder that it can't replace asthma medication, and as per the guidelines above, please be cautious about recommending it to others bearing in mind it can be a trigger.

sorry I was only asking if anyone found it a benefit not expecting people to suddenly all start using it instead of medication

I realise that, but I wanted to remind anyone replying not to recommend it as a replacement, or to others when it can be a trigger. Threads about alternative remedies can get into this dodgy area sometimes, even if the person asking didn't mean that - I thought it was best to remind everyone up front!

As I have 4 severe lung problems and my axium. [and other medical issues]is if anything works to aleviate my problems then I may concider trying it. Without going into a lengthy debate my Respirory team who look after my case says what works for does not mean it will work for others. We dont all like beans and some like brussel sprouts.

I put the essential eucalyptus oil in my diffuser, at any sign of a cold. If things are bad, I mix it with a citrus oil

The lungs cannot handle oils of any type- even from diffusers.

Hi! I use eucalyptus for any congestion it’s good for unblocking also for inflammation. I use this in a carrier oil, ( not neat) also for my back pain.
