Montelukast side effects

Hi all,

I started on montelukast on Friday and have had the usual side effects, headache and stomach pain but today I’ve got the most horrendous diarrhoea. Does anyone know how long this usually lasts? I’m back to work on Friday in a school so I’m a bit worried! I know it’s just the medication settling so I’m hopeful it won’t be too long. I normally have a cast iron stomach.

I don’t recall having any negative side effects when I started Montelukast but recent research in other areas has indicated that if someone is pre warned they may have side effects then they will probably experience them !!! Many things are simply coincidental and an upset stomach can be the result of nervousness or stress, I found that taking montelukast improved my breathing and life so much it was worth it

HiI never had, or have, and side effects. So it could be coincidence. However if it helps you to breath, I'd carry on through. Take some imodium if you are worried, it works well.

Didn't suffer from any of your symptoms but I did have one symptom wierd dreams so I decided to take it in the morning and that solved the problem.You might have a stomach bug or covid as they are the symptoms .

I have GERD anyway which gives me these symptoms.. I take omneprazole which I think makes it worse but does help with the acid reflux and indigestion...
