Peak Flow without medication

I am confused regarding my peak flows, does my graph look normal without medication?

I have not been diagnosed with asthma as of yet.

As you can see, my peak flow started dropping Thurs 10th Feb PM to average of 550-570. On the following Mon 14th Feb, I tested positive for covid.

Should I redo my two week diary without asthma medication when I recovered from covid?

Do you think that the drop in peak flows was a early warning for covid before i had symptoms and positive test?

My covid symptoms were runny nose, burning throat and chest pain mainly.

My personal best is 660 (predicted 640).

Hi AndF, it looks like you need to have a review of your peak flow diary and symptoms with your healthcare professional, they should be able to advise if you need to repeat this

You need to ask your Asthma nurse or GP before you stop taking any medication.

Your peak flow could have dropped due to Covid, but it could have been due to something else as well. Do you know what your triggers are?

I'm currently keeping a peak flow diary even though I was told I could stop at the end of January, as I'm finding it helpful to confirm what things trigger my asthma. So it wouldn't hurt to keep recording it - but don't stop any medication without checking first.

GP agreed with me to do peak flows without asthma medication 3 weeks ago and my peak flows were within 15% until weekend before covid positive.

I have no idea what my triggers are to be honest.

I’d stick to whatever your asthma plan says. It likely tells you to contact your gp if your pf drops by 20%, as that’s standard advice. If you might be starting a flare-up, now isn’t the time to stop your meds

hi thanks for reply. i have not got asthma plan at the moment as it is suspected asthma. The only time it has dropped below 20% is post exercise (normally high intensity and/or cold weather) and when I have been ill with a virus for example covid. It more than likely I have developed mild asthma in my 30s.

Ah, I see. Long may the mildness continue 😊
