Prednisolone and weight loss/difficult time eating

I understand most people tend to have the opposite issue, but has anyone had weight loss and an incredibly difficult time eating on pred.? I do have digestive issues (gastroparesis) and anorexia nervosa but I always struggle so much more with eating on prednisolone and was wondering if there was a reason why? Or is it just my brain being weird alongside my body? I also struggle a lot more with low blood sugars on pred. too. I'm prescribed Fortijuce so I'm trying to have those but it's so difficult I'm getting frustrated and so are other people because of concerns about my weight etc. electrolyte issues, etc.

Anyone got any ideas?

I often lose my appetite while on prednisone then gain weight afterward with delayed water retention. Can you take electrolyte tablets? I take those daily because I have adrenal insufficiency. Try to keep eating healthily lean proteins and veggies and avoid salt if you can. How long is the course you're on?

Yeah, I have so that's not an issue, am also prescribed Fortijuce so use them more when things are bad. Have to have salt due to another condition of mine requiring more than normal of it! Thanks for the reply though, was beginning to think I was weird and alone. 😂

When I was younger I could eat a horse on prednisolone even to the point when i was a teenager my mum would have to bring food into the hospital particulary salt and vinegar crisps 😅

Now many years later whenever I'm put on them I lose my appetite, feel sick and generally can't be bothered to eat. Everyone assumes I'll be starving on them but nope I'd say in the last few years it's been completely the opposite. I have to keep telling my asthma nurse they don't make me hungry as she assumes they do.

Cereal and toast seems to be one of the things I can eat when on the higher doses that and very plain food. Once I get to the lower doses it's a bit better.

It's really weird isn't it? Thankfully the doctors on the ward and my asthma nurse are cognizant of the fact that my appetite has completely gone (don't typically have an appetite anyway, but this is so much worse in that respect!!). Sorry your AN isn't! Hope you're doing okay. Thank you for your reply. :)
