I've been trying to find a mask that I can wear when out or in the office but so far haven't been able to find anything that doesn't make me feel unwell when wearing or flare my asthma up after. I'm on montelukst and only just got my asthma under control
I'm keen to wear a mask and was wondering if anyone could share any that they have been using successfully??
Thank you!

I'm in the exact same situation, I've been struggling with my asthma for 4 months now and have gone from Fostair 100/6 to Fostair 200/6 and montelukast and am just now getting to the point where I am not coughing daily and only using my ventolin 3-4 x weekly. Masks are a problem I've yet to solve but I'd really like that protection when I'm finally back out there.
There’s a few other posts about this... unfortunately it seems it’s trial and error. I’m better with thinner ones so I can breathe better Through them, and a shaped nose.
I'm going to wear a Buff with a piece of kitchen paper in as a filter. However my main asthma symptom is coughing, I never get too out of breath. I was wondering if the masks you can buy have some chemical on them that upsets you, rather than it being the mask itself.
I have to wear a smelly surgical mask at work and my chest is sore and squeaking like a mouse by the end of the shift. The bra-shaped fabric ones are the most comfortable for me. I have a handmade one with just 2 layers of fabric. I can't blow a candle out through it, but I can get air in, albeit warm, stuffy air.
I also wear a Buff when I'm out for walks or picking up scripts at the pharmacy - much lighter-weight. When one has a cough like mine, one needs to have something - but it's a good way of clearing the aisle in the supermarket. 😘
