Have 3 kids 2 on asd spectrum 1 with 22q duplication. Office is closed and I’m working from home. Work will not permit furlough as a result I’m now depressed.

Currently on my third course of steroids in the past month but cannot get any help or assistance. Any help welcomed

Have you not been put in the shielding category? Have you checked asthma Uk to see if your inhalers are on the list?

Could you doctor not sign you off sick?

You sound like you should be shielding with or without an official letter due to so many recent courses of steroids - ie asthma is currently not controlled. Shielding itself doesn't mean not working though, if work can be done from home.

However, it sounds as if everything else is meaning things are very stressful/difficult for you at the moment so would agree with speaking to a GP about maybe being signed off for a bit. The stress won't be helping your asthma for a start but, irrespective of that, you need to be able to cope.

Hello, is school taking some children? Could school take your children? I’m an sen teacher and we are open to a few. It does look like we will take more after Easter as we know how hard it is for parents. Is there anyone you can talk to?

Hi

The above is really good advice..

My sons school are definitely providing day care for children with SEN along with key worker children.

You should phone/e-mail the school and get some information especially if you are working from home.

Take care.

Thank you guys for your advice.

I received my shielding letter today however still work must continue.

School will only accept kids with 2 parents that are key workers.

I’m sure I will persevere and reduce hours too suit.

Asthma still new to me only 2 years ago now 42 and the copd news came in August last year.

Have been lurking here ever since and glad I reached out. Much appreciated. Take care everyone

Hi City77

Sorry to go on.. but please query that information.

My husband works for the NHS.. I don’t but we have been offered the key worker childcare at school if we need it? 🤔

It seems that there are different rules going on which doesnt seem fair to me.

Could the children’s father help in any way?

Hope you can get sorted with help soon..

Take care
